I spent two hours admiring three of Vincent Van Gogh’s masterpieces at the Museum of Modern Art (MOMA) in New York City yesterday.
“The Olive Trees,” “The Starry Night” and “Portrait of Joseph Roulin” were on display.
My favorite part about viewing these paintings up close was seeing the detail. Some parts of the paintings were just canvas, but they blended so well with the colors Van Gogh chose that I think they added to the pieces. The part that fascinated me the most was how thick the moon was painted in “The Starry Night.”
I do not remember what drew me to Van Gogh’s artwork, but there is something about them that has mesmerized me the past few years. I have become so in love with his artwork, that I hope to travel and see each of his paintings throughout my life.
